If you are seeking a primary source verification statement, the Joint Commission has previously indicated to us that they do not define the term “primary source verification statement,” however they noted that official correspondence from the licensing agency would be acceptable. Their definition of primary source is “the original source or an approved agent of that source of a specific credential that can verify the accuracy of a qualification reported by an individual practitioner.”
As the BSRB is the approved state agency for licensing Licensed Psychologists, Social Workers, Professional Counselors, Marriage and Family Therapists, Master’s Level Psychologists, Addiction Counselors, and Behavior Analysts, our license verification site is considered a primary source for BSRB data. It is the same information the Kansas BSRB provides through other means and is true and complete to the best of our knowledge.
